Network details
Binary representation
The first prefix bits identify the network portion; the remaining bits identify host addresses.
What do these values mean?
Network address: identifies the subnet itself. Broadcast address: the IPv4 broadcast destination for the subnet.
Usable host range: the ordinary host addresses between the network and broadcast addresses. Wildcard mask: the inverse of the subnet mask, commonly used in Cisco ACLs and routing configurations.
Note: /31 networks are commonly used for point-to-point links, and /32 represents a single address. Their usable-address handling differs from a typical subnet.
